We all know social media is a big part of people’s daily online interactions, and brands have quickly taken advantage of Social Media Influencers to help tell their stories.

Blue C recently concluded an exciting campaign with an Electric Vehicle (EV) brand looking to make a big splash in the US market. Vietnam-based VinFast is already a recognized name abroad, particularly in the Southeast Asian market, where their full line of EV offerings range from compact cars, SUVs, and sedans to scooters and buses. Their rise has been impressive. VinFast quickly became the best-selling car in all three segments in Vietnam within three years of their 2017 launch into the EV space.

As their plans for global expansion focused heavily on the US market, the VinFast executive team tapped Blue C to help with their promotional strategy and marketing efforts at the 2022 New York International Auto Show.

Knowing the client wanted to reach a wide audience demographic for their two EV SUVs aimed specifically at the US market, Blue C set out to craft a social media campaign utilizing the power and reach of key social media influencers from varying platforms and audiences. Additionally, we tapped into our knowledge and expertise in the automotive space to secure an impressive array of automotive-specific talents, from YouTube car reviewers to performance car influencers from Instagram.

We also secured popular tech, travel, and lifestyle influencers to help expose the exciting new EV brand to a varied audience. The approach was not complicated, but proper execution was essential. We wanted our influencers to stay authentic to their personal brand in how the sponsored content featuring VinFast was relayed to their followers. This was not a “one size fits all approach.”

Key messaging topics we wanted our influencers to focus on included the unique battery lease program that helps keep the VinFast VF8 E-SUV under $50k. Something very unique in the EV space. We also helped steer audiences to the VinFirst Program. This unique reservation platform allows members to receive special perks, including an e-voucher for up to $5,000 off the purchase of a VinFast SUV and an all-expenses trip to a Vingroup-owned luxury 5-star resort in Vietnam.

All in all, the campaign was a smashing success.
